What are your career goals?

I plan on acquiring a government scholarship for service to begin working for the DoD to serve my country in the civilian sector since I am unable to serve in a military capacity.

To become a software engineer.

How confident are you that your Higher Promise Internship will help you reach these goals?

Higher Promise provided me with networking opportunities, which have allowed me to make connections with multiple large companies. I am very confident that these have given me a foot in the door.

The networking I received from the Promise to do job shadowing at SalesPage and Bronson in the IT department was invaluable. The experience that I received at my internship talking with other workers and engineers was also incredibly helpful and valuable.

What has been your favorite part of the internship?

I really enjoyed how much the company put into creating a safe environment for work and how much they taught me about what I was doing and why to do my job.

Would you recommend Higher Promise to other Promise Scholars? If so, why?

I would recommend Higher Promise to other Promise Scholars due to the opportunity that it gives to explore jobs in the Kalamazoo area. Additionally, the connections provided by The Kalamazoo Promise have opened the doors to many future opportunities moving forward with my career.
