Grant Specialist

Marie is the Grant Specialist for the Outreach Team and a proud first-generation college graduate. She holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Western Michigan University. Education has always been a cornerstone of Marie’s life, and being a part of The Kalamazoo Promise success story is a source of great pride for her.

Before joining The Kalamazoo Promise, Marie gained valuable experience in various roles within local nonprofits, where she developed a strong passion for advocacy. She is deeply committed to mentoring and empowering Latina youth in the community, fostering a sense of belonging, pride, and resilience.

Outside of her professional achievements, Marie cherishes spending quality time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories. She is also proud to raise her three boys, teaching them to be compassionate, responsible leaders and challenging them to change the narrative for future generations.
