Scholarship Support Coordinator

Maria Nunez serves as the Scholarship Support Coordinator and is committed to supporting students and families through strong community connections and accessible resources.

Maria brings several years of experience working within Kalamazoo Public Schools and community-based organizations, where she has supported multilingual learners, families navigating housing or financial challenges, and students working toward postsecondary pathways. Throughout her work, she has focused on reducing barriers to education and helping families feel informed, supported, and confident as they navigate educational systems and opportunities.

Her background includes community outreach, program and grant support, and coordination of student and family centered events designed to strengthen engagement and access.

Maria is excited to have joined The Kalamazoo Promise team and views it as a full-circle moment. Having gone through the Kalamazoo Public Schools system and being a Kalamazoo Promise recipient herself, she is deeply motivated to give back and support students as they pursue their own educational goals.
