The Kalamazoo Promise is partnering with the global beauty brand Clinique, for a six-part series called Connect with Clinique. This lunch-and-learn format will provide a behind the scenes look at how a product goes from concept to actually hitting the shelves in a retail environment or .com platform. Areas such as marketing, product development, store design, education, social media, and sales will be covered throughout the six-part series.

Over the summer all Promise eligible students that are rising juniors and seniors in high school, as well as students that will be freshman and sophomores in college will have the opportunity to hear from diverse speakers, network, and explore career pathways. If you have ever had any interest in these areas, or are curious to learn more about career pathways in these fields, then this is the series for you!

June 9th- Trade Marketing

Learn from Clinique Marketing experts how they influence the development of a new product by analyzing the competitive landscape, investigating current beauty trends, creating product positioning and creating key messaging to appropriately market the product to the consumer.

June 23rd- Product Development

Learn from Clinique Product Development experts how they influence the development of a new product by working directly with our guiding Dermatologists & Scientists to combine key ingredients, conduct clinical, sensory & safety testing and ultimately decide on the formula that will become our new innovation.

July 14th- Visual Merchandising & Store Design

Learn from Clinique Visual Merchandising & Store Design experts as they create the packaging, merchandising and promotional design elements to support the launch of the new product across various retail environments.

July 28th- Education

Learn from Clinique Education experts as they share how we educate our in-store & on-line teams on the features/benefits and application techniques as well as how to bring this new product experience to life for clients both face-to-face & screen-to-screen.

August 11th- Social Activations. Social Media & Influencers

Learn from Clinique Consumer Engagement & Social Media experts as they share how they drive client engagement and build brand awareness via online & in-store eventing as well as social influencer strategies to support our new product launch.

August 25th- Sales/Field Executive & Social Marketing

Learn from our Clinique Field Sales experts on how they promote this new product across multiple retail channels by coaching their retail teams to build their client base, deliver an elevated client experience and ultimately drive loyalty through client outreach.  They will also share how they track success across the retail arena.
