Thank you, Jake

The Kalamazoo Promise extends our congratulations to our former Digital Media Manager, Jake Waggoner, who has embarked on a new journey pursuing his business, Defined Lines Marketing, as a full-time endeavor.

Jake joined The Kalamazoo Promise team in 2017 as an intern while attending Western Michigan University. Following his graduation in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, he worked as the Scholar Relations and Alumni Coordinator, helping to build connections between The Promise and Promise Alumni.

Jake transitioned to the role of Digital Media Manager where he oversaw the digital marketing communications and curated marketing strategies to help The Promise reach Scholars through social media platforms, as well as creating most of the visuals and written content for our online platforms. Some of the main projects he helped build are the Promise website and the “Deep Dive with Dr. John” podcast.

When asked about advice to give to Promise entrepreneurs, he states, “Whatever ideas you have, start working on them today.”
